Paul, Weiss is advising Brookfield Asset Management on its strategic partnership with Angel Oak Companies, an alternative asset manager with over $18 billion in assets under management. Under the terms of the agreement Brookfield will acquire a majority ownership stake in Angel Oak, which will continue to operate independently and retain its current leadership. Financial details were not disclosed, and the deal is subject to customary closing conditions.
