Bathi Sheriffdeen is a counsel in the Private Equity M&A Group. Bathi specializes in advising private equity funds and their portfolio companies in large-scale and middle-market merger and acquisition transactions, including leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, divestitures, divisional carve-outs, auction processes, leveraged recapitalizations, capital restructurings and majority and minority investments.

Bathi has advised clients in various industries, including technology, healthcare, life sciences, industrials, energy, real estate and financial services. He has also counseled private equity funds and corporate clients on matters related to corporate governance, securities law compliance and equity arrangements.

Bathi has represented private equity clients such as Bain Capital, Berkshire Partners, General Atlantic, Golden Gate Capital, Greater Sum Ventures, Kohlberg & Co. and Roark Capital Group.

Some of his representative experience prior to and since joining Paul, Weiss includes:

  • A&M Capital in its acquisitions and dispositions of, and investments in, various portfolio companies, including Approved Networks, Champion Optical Network Engineering, Classic Brands, Dutchland Plastics and US Critical
  • Bain Capital in its acquisition of a 51% stake in the Milacron injection molding and extrusion business of Hillenbrand
  • Berkshire Partners and its portfolio company Harvey Performance Company in the acquisition of ATA Group
  • Bregal Sagemount in its acquisitions and dispositions of, and investments in, various portfolio companies including BuildingLink, Conductor, Procure Analytics and Transflo
  • Covia Energy in its all-equity combination with Black Mountain Sand
