In “IP transactions lawyers emerge from the shadows,” published on January 3, John touches on the increasing complexity of M&A deals that has led to a surge in demand for in IP transactions advice, the varying regulations across jurisdictions that add nuances to cross-border transactions and the opportunities for IP transactions specialists at both international and domestic law firms as the value of M&A deals is expected to rise in 2025. “There are a lot more technologies now, and people are focused on novel ways of monetizing those technologies, including through securitization and novel ways of collaboration to reduce capital expenditure,” John says. “There’s an incredible nexus of opportunities.”
