In “What’s Your AI ROI?,” published June 18, Katherine discusses the AI-associated risks corporate directors need to assess when making technology investments, and highlights key questions directors should consider asking before investing in AI: What is the ROI; how are competitors using the new technology; and what is the timeline for results?

Avoiding making AI investments is not a good strategy, she says, or companies risk isolation and obsolescence. “You need to look around outside the castle and decide if you want to let a drawbridge down,” Forrest says. “But you need to let down a careful, cyber-controlled drawbridge.”
